2003 Berrys' Own Selection Bowmore

Berrys' Own Selection Bowmore
Bowmore is the capital of Islay and its namesake distillery nestles at the bottom of the high street on the shores of Loch Indaal. The distillery is one of the few to retain its own malting house which provides a good proportion of the peated barley used to make the whisky.

Bowmore is a complex Islay malt typified by fruity and fern-like aromas, some saltiness and emerging peat-smoke. The flavours are savoury biased with a leafy and smoky infusion. The finish imposes a warming, seductive and comforting charm.

Berry Bros. & Rudd can trace its origins back to 1698 whenthe Widow Bourne founded her shop opposite St James’s Palace. Today, the present generation of Berrys and Rudds continue to manage the family-owned business from 3 St James’s Street.

Bowmore Distillery, Islay

Berrys' Own Selection Bowmore
Strong hit on the nose but smooths out into a lingering peatness. A small hit of peat hits the palate but expands well. Quite sharp and sticks around for a long time.
