The wines of Christian Moueix not least Pétrus, Lafleur and Trotanoy - are synonymous with excellence so we are not entirely surprised that La Fleur Pétrus has outperformed the vintage in 2007. The wine is a real triumph from its fragrant creamy raspberry nose to the lovely sweet, silky raspberry and strawberry fruit, firm but ripe tannins and long pure finish. This year it has added a rather libertine layer of succulence and seductiveness that will make it absolutely delicious to drink. Superbly located on a gravel-rich plateau sandwiched between the legendary Lafleur and Pétrus, this outstanding wine is surprisingly close in quality to its far grander siblings.Château La Fleur-Pétrus
