This course day is for the person who seeks to be introduced to the very best Claret and learn the key points of the best that Bordeaux offers, all in one day, in a small group of attendees (limited to fifteen). The morning will be spent understanding the components of a glass of claret and comparing how the different grape varieties are blended in the famous left bank and right bank villages. Then superb examples of each famous commune will be discussed; you will taste the who’s who of Bordeaux Châteaux followed by a vertical trio that offers the chance to taste the difference between left and right bank. After some nourishment in the form of an informal short picnic buffet, we shall resume for more highlights; namely a revealing trio showing how one distinct wine of high pedigree will change and age over time and finally a run-down of the most recent amazing vintages. There is a stellar line-up of wines planned, including First Growth Ch. Haut-Brion.
