An Introduction to the Rhône Valley Tutored Cellar Tasting, 8 October

Come and see how well the wines of the Rhône rival the other great classic regions of France. Our extremely wellinformed Wine Education Specialist Anne McHale will be your guide tonight as you make your way down the Rhône river from North to South, exploring the vineyards and appellations en route. You will discover the lesser-known white grape varieties of the North (Roussanne, Marsanne and Viognier) and taste a flight of three Northern Rhône Syrahs, including a majestic Hermitage. Heading south, you will be enchanted by another exotic white and a luscious rosé before you revel in the Southern Rhône’s robust reds with Vacqueyras and Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Finally, the floral fragrance of a fine sweet Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise will send you home smiling!
