Unusal Whites, A Tutored Cellar Tasting, Friday 12th October 2012

Unusal Whites, A Tutored Cellar Tasting, Friday 12th October 2012
When we choose a white wine most of us tend to go for something familiar – a Burgundy, Chablis or Sancerre, or a New World Chardonnay or a Sauvignon Blanc. This evening we will be expanding our horizons, exploring some lesserknown regions and tasting some more unusual grape varieties. Italy and Spain are particularly rich sources of exciting alternatives, but Hungary and France will also feature, with wines from the Rhône, Alsace and Madiran. Be prepared to re-discover some old friends and discover new favourites from among the wide range of different styles and flavours on offer.

Wines to be tasted:

Berrys' Cremant de Limoux, Antech-Limoux, France
2009 Godello, Louro, Valdeorras, Bodegas Rafael Palacios, Spain
2010 Verdejo, Bodegas Monteabellon, Spain
2010 Jurancon Sec, La Part Davan, Domaine Larredya, France
2007 Tokaji Mandolas, Dry Furmint, Oremus, Hungary
2010 Roussanne, Vin de Pays des Collines Rhodaniennes, Domaine Cuilleron, France
2009 St Peray, Version, Domaine François Villard, France
2008 Il Montino, Colli Tortonesi, La Colombera, Piedmont, Italy
2010 Arneis, Cornarea, Piedmont, Italy
