From arguably the finest Cabernet Franc vineyard in wine region of Bourgueil (and hence the Loire) Grand-Mont is very much the Musigny or Monprivato of the region! Located in the village of Benais, mid slope, enjoying both Turonian chalk and sandy clay, this is the inaugural release of the Caslot’s single vineyard Grand-Mont; a site they are currently renting.

Displaying a far greater intensity of fruit than their Chevalerie vineyard, along with evident new oak (this was their first year hence buying new wood!) to balance the incredible ripeness achieved in the sunny 2009 vintage. Decadent yet wrapped up in a very fine structure. Best tucked away if you can resist!
