2009 Cloudy Bay Te Koko, Marlborough, New Zealand

Cloudy Bay Te Koko, Marlborough, New Zealand
Cloudy Bay’s prestige cuvée Sauvignon Blanc wine has a multi-dimensional nose of creamy lemon, oak vanilla, lime zest, all encapsulated by a spring-water-like freshness. Medium weight on the palate, with slight sweet spice from the oak. The finish is the highlight – powerfully flavourful with flavours of anise and orange peel, backed by driving, yet balanced acidity.
(Hamish Orr Ewing - BBR Fine Wine)

The most unusual wine in their range, Cloudy Bay's 2009 Te Koko is a serious, food-friendly Sauvignon Blanc aged in French oak. A full-bodied, alternative expression of the grape variety, it is complex and savoury with aromas of lychee, honeysuckle, thyme and smoky oak. This would be a delicious foil with oysters.Cloudy Bay

Cloudy Bay Te Koko, Marlborough, New Zealand
Cloudy Bay needs no introduction: unquestionably the winery that put New Zealand on the international map and presciently understood the aesthetic appeal of an emotive label. Now part of the LVMH portfolio, the winery is a magnet for visitors to Marlborough. They farm around 200 hectares of vines in the Wairau Valley, Renwick and Omaka Valleys augmented by five grape-growers under long-term contracts.
