The 2008 Barolo Santo Stefano di Perno is considerably fresher and more vibrant than the Villero. It is the expressive dark red fruit that dominates the wine’s balance, while some of the more typical herbal notes that are often present in this wine are in the background. Firm yet well-integrated tannins support the finish. The 2008 is a very elegant Santo Stefano.
