Bramaterra refers to the 100-hectare region of viticulture and to the style of wine, a style born of the rocky acidic, pink quartz, gneiss and limestone slopes of the pre-Alps (read well ventilated, humid and modest alcohol levels). Nebbiolo takes 80% of the blend, with the rest made up of Croatina, Vespolina and Uva Rara. The Croatina gives the violet colour and brambly flesh whilst the Vespolina a minty-fig like quality and the Nebbiolo provides the spine. With wonderful texture, poise, sapidity, and lovely ripeness, this 2008 is a gorgeous wine.
