About this WINE
Vina Mein
In 1988, Javier Alén created the Viña Meín winery in order to showcase the best of traditional Galician white wine. This is an estate that embraces Galician winemaking heritage by using all the traditional grape varieties (such as Treixadura, Godello, Loureira, Torrontés, Albariño, Lado and Albilla), yet employs modern winemaking techniques to create wonderfully balanced, fresh white wines.
Nowadays Javier’s wine blends are built around the local favourite varietal of Treixadura. Javier Alén’s Ribeiro winery now uses up to 16 hectares of vineyard and ages the wines in a combination of stainless steel vats and 500-litre oak barrels.
Other Varieties
There are over 200 different grape varieties used in modern wine making (from a total of over 1000). Most lesser known blends and varieties are traditional to specific parts of the world.

Description
Fragrant, yet subtle, aromas of acacia flower and white pear are offset by a clean and lifted palate, with a lovely full texture. The oak is very subtle and, if anything, just adds to the classiness of this gentle yet classy ‘food’ wine. Drink 2012-2013.
