2003 - Ten Years On, A Fine Wine Dinner, Monday 20th May 2013

If you were anywhere in Europe in 2003, you are bound to remember how very hot and dry it was. This exceptionally hot weather affected European vineyards to such an extent that everyone in wine circles thinks of the 2003 vintage as an unusual one...and depending on where the wine is from, this can mean ‘notorious’ or ‘fabulous’! Anne has a special connection with the wines of this vintage since it was her first year working in the wine trade, so she is very much looking forward to seeing how they have progressed ten years on. She has chosen an eclectic selection to cover all styles from dry to sweet, white to red and sparkling to still, and to represent a range of countries from England through to Hungary, via some classics like Premier Cru Red Burgundy and Classed Growth Claret. Add to this a tasty four-course dinner designed for the occasion by our talented Chef de Cuisine Stewart Turner and you have the recipe for a fascinating, educational and altogether delicious evening!
