Chasse-Spleen has made an exceptional value wine in 2003. This is not just the best wine in Moulis, but it is one of the best in the whole region, rivaling its own impressive 2000, and without a doubt Cru Class standard. Jet black in colour, a smidgeon of oak supports the intense blackcurrant and blackberry fruit on the appealing nose. Sweet, ripe, well-rounded fruit on the palate is buttressed by gentle tannins and a hint of liquorice on the finish. Made from 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 1% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc, this reflects all of Moulis characteristic impeccable balance and high levels of sweetfruit.
