Description

Langlade, deep in the Languedoc, and hitherto famous for being the home of Lawrence Durrell, is where former electrical engineer Rémy Pédrano took it upon himself to revitalise a famous vineyard and to do so with traditional grape varieties. This he has done with great success over the last decade.

Deliciously complex and wearing its oak with great dignity, the 2008 is defiant of the somewhat mixed reviews for the vintage. Indeed in the warm Mediterranean climate, cooler weather is often a benefit, engendering greater balance and fewer intimations of surmaturité. Herewith a case in point; dark fruit at its core, spice in its spirit and a gentle savoury finish to nourish fond recollection.
