Sylvain Loichet likes to give his red wines a long slow vinification followed by an equally protracted period in barrel, to make a rich, weighty wine which is worthy of considerable bottle ageing. Even the lighter 2007 vintage has made a remarkably dense wine, full of a mix of red and black fruit, with a fine core of ripe tannin to provide backbone.
