This outstanding blend is a classic ‘GSM’ (that is to say Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre) with a dash of ‘C’ (that is to say Cinsault). With vines near the top of the famous hillside of Vinsobres and one or two on the plateau (at 400 metres), Philippe is well placed to exploit the latent quality of the terroir. Raspberry confit, bay and crushed rocks entice and then seduce, with an energetic freshness on the finish to ensure an afterglow.

The Chaume Arnauds are high achievers it seems; the eldest son of Philippe and Valérie , Rafael is now a full time first team  pro at Clermont Ferrand, one of the better French rugby union teams, by all accounts. Meanwhile the other son, also built like a second row forward, is helping to take the property to new heights of excellence.
