Napoleon Cellar Dinners
Join us at one of our popular Napoleon Cellar Dinners for a memorable evening of fine wine, fine cuisine and fine company. Tucked away beneath our shop in the heart of central London, the cellars were once the largest working cellars in the capital. In 1999 they were converted to create London's most exclusive fine dining venue.
The impressive vaulted Napoleon Cellar (view virtual tour here) was so named after Napoleon III, who plotted his return to France here whilst in exile in England between 1838 and 1848.
Arrive at 6.30pm to a welcoming Champagne aperitif in our historic shop, before descending to the imposing Napoleon Cellar for a sumptuous four-course dinner and a myriad of fabulous wines. Throughout the evening your host and the wine estate’s representative will talk to you about the wines, sharing their knowledge and views, and helping you decide which you like best and why.

There is a plethora of great wines made in the up and coming regions of Italy, away from the well-beaten path of Tuscany and Piedmont. Tonight we explore wines from Lombardia, the Veneto, Puglia, Sicily, Basilicata, Campania; sparkling gems from Lombardia’s Franciacorta, exotic reds from the slopes of Mount Etna, full bodied reds and complex whites from the Aglianico and Fiano grape varieties, alongside with full-bodied reds from baking hot Puglia.
N.B. Wines for this event will be chosen from Berry Bros. & Rudd’s stocks at the time of the event, so most will be available to order afterwards.
