Description

Hosted by Mark Pardoe MW,  Wine Buying Director with Special Guest Alexandre Thienpont, Owner

The Vieux Château Certan estate, which in 1745 already figured on Bellayme's famous map under the name of "Sertan", is located in the heart of the Pomerol plateau. The estate vineyard is today made up of 65% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. This varietal mix enables the best possible balance to be sought in each vintage between the Merlot and the Cabernet Franc. Vieux Château Certan is regularly ranked by the world's press and international tasting panels among the very top wines. Join Mark Pardoe MW and Alexandre Thienpont for a highly stimulating evening.

Wines to be tasted include:

1999 Le Mesnil Grand Cru, Champagne
2008 Vieux Ch. Certan, Pomerol
2006 Vieux Château Certan, Pomerol
2005 Vieux Château Certan, Pomerol
2000 Vieux Château Certan, Pomerol
1998 Vieux Château Certan, Pomerol
1996 Vieux Château Certan, Pomerol

Napoleon Cellar Dinners

Napoleon Cellar Dinners

Join us at one of our popular Napoleon Cellar Dinners for a memorable evening of fine wine, fine cuisine and fine companyTucked away beneath our shop in the heart of central London, the cellars were once the largest working cellars in the capital. In 1999 they were converted to create London's most exclusive fine dining venue.

The impressive vaulted Napoleon Cellar (view virtual tour here) was so named after Napoleon III, who plotted his return to France here whilst in exile in England between 1838 and 1848.

Arrive at 6.30pm to a welcoming Champagne aperitif in our historic shop, before descending to the imposing Napoleon Cellar for a sumptuous four-course dinner and a myriad of fabulous wines. Throughout the evening your host and the wine estate’s representative will talk to you about the wines, sharing their knowledge and views, and helping you decide which you like best and why.

4 tickets maximum per customer (subject to availability)
