Description

Hosted by Catherine Owen, Fine Wine Specialist

This evening’s line-up will showcase the distinctive character and diversity emerging from the ‘second home’ of Pinot Noir.  A notoriously difficult grape to grow successfully, Pinot Noir has found that the climate of New Zealand’s South Island suits it well, and the wines from that region have developed a strong following. What is behind their distinctive appeal? Is it really all about fruit, or do the wines express the different terroirs of the region as they do in Burgundy? Join us this evening to form your own view.

Wines to be tasted include:

Berrys' Crémant de Limoux, Antech-Limoux
2012 Felton Road, Bannockburn Pinot Noir Central Otago, New Zealand
2011 Neudorf Vineyards, Moutere Pinot Noir, New Zealand
2011 Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir, Marlborough, New Zealand
2010 Rippon Vineyard, Rippon Mature Vine Pinot Noir, C. Otago, New Zealand
2010 Ostler Pinot Noir, Caroline's, Waitaki River, Otago, New Zealand
2010 Dog Point Pinot Noir, Marlborough, New Zealand
2010 Churton Pinot Noir, Marlborough, New Zealand
2010 Churton Marlborough, The Abyss Pinot Noir, New Zealand
