Vintage Champagne always has a special ring to it. This style really allows the chef de cave to display a little individual flair and showcase their House style in the reflected glory of a particular vintage. Tonight we will sample vintage delights from a dozen producers including giants such as Krug, and see what Bollinger, Pol Roger and Dom Pérignon each made of 2004. And amongst a coterie from our small growers’ selection, we directly compare two adjacent vintages from Vilmart and see just how long Champagnes can age with a magisterial finale from R & L Legras with their 1990 St Vincent cuvée.
