Description

Hosted by Barbara Drew, Wine School

This lunchtime session is all about the dizzying world of sparkling wines outside the strict confines of Champagne. We will be exploring fruity, frothy Moscato, delicate, traditional Vouvray and rich and earthy Cava, with some English sparkling wine thrown in for good measure. These wines can be served throughout a meal: as an aperitif, with a hearty main or with a luscious dessert. This will be your opportunity to try some food matches and see for yourself, whilst you learn about how each wine is made.

Wines to be tasted include:

1998 Nyetimber, Blanc de Blancs, Sussex, England
2005 Cava Gramona, Gran Reserva III Lustros
2011 Apogee Winery Brut Rosé, Tasmania
2012 Prosecco Asolo 'Millesimato', Bele Casel, Veneto
2010 Vouvray Petillant, L'Ancestrale, Vincent Carême, Loire
2013 Moscato d'Asti, Canelli, Cerutti, Cassinasco, Piedmont
