Description

Just as you can learn much from a restaurant’s house wine, you should also be able to judge a wine merchant by its own-label bottles, and we wouldn't put our name to anything which wasn't delicious to drink. Our range of Highly Dependable wines is just that: a marque that stands for reliable good value and taste. After extensive tasting and blending with winemaker Jean-Luc Terrier, our distinctly up-market Reserve range is carefully crafted to demonstrate the marvellous terroir of some of the Languedoc’s finest hillside vineyards.

This red wine marries Merlot, Grenache and Syrah and is a delicious pot pourri of red and black fruit, with an attractive herbal backdrop.

Anthony Rose
BB&R comes up trumps with a southern French blend whose exuberant Liquid-cherry juiciness keeps you coming back for more.

This is another IGP Pays d'Oc blend made by Jean-Luc Terrier, in this case combining Merlot with Grenache and Syrah. I love the whiff of fresh-cracked stones and pepperiness of the nose, adding a refined, herbal and cooler climate touch of elegance to the juicy cherry fruit. In the mouth it bursts with supple, fleshy red fruit, edged with bittersweet cocoa and spice, and with fine balancing acidity. With a modest 13% alcohol it is a seriously delicious wine and it is deliciously serious for its price. The perfect upmarket house red.

About this WINE

J L Terrier & C Collovray

J L Terrier & C Collovray

Jean-Luc Terrier and Christian Collvray were recently hailed as Burgundy's Winemakers of the Year by the renowned Gault-Millau guide and are better known for their exemplary White Burgundies from Domaine Des Deux Roches. In recent years, however, this quality-conscious duo have been producing an outstanding range of wines from 30-year-old vines on slopes 500 metres above sea level south of Limoux in the Languedoc region.

The combination of quality, varietal definition and value persuaded us to take the important step of working with them to produce three of our House wines.
