Description

This evening we shall be exploring the latest and greatest in Loire wines. From top Sauvignon Blanc producers Cotat and Dagueneau, to some earthy Cabernet Francs, we’ll discover the range of styles the Loire can produce. With our cheese course we’ll pair another brace of whites: an intense and mouthwatering Savennieres and new addition to our range from Jasnières. The evening will be topped and tailed with two magnificent Vouvrays, a méthode ancestrale sparkling Chenin Blanc from young producer Vincent Careme, and, to finish, a sublime 1947 sweet wine from the great Domaine Huet, making the evening one not to be missed.

Wines to be tasted:

2012 Sancerre, Caillottes, Domaine François Cotat, Chavignol
2011 Vouvray Petillant, L'Ancestrale, Vincent Carême
2011 Savennières, l'Enclos, Eric Morgat
2011 Les Rosiers, Jasnières, Domaine de la Bellivière
2010 Bourgueil, Grand Mont, Domaine de la Chevalerie
2005 Saumur-Champigny, Cuvée Prestige, Clos des Cordeliers

Napoleon Cellar Dinners

Napoleon Cellar Dinners

Join us at one of our popular Napoleon Cellar Dinners for a memorable evening of fine wine, fine cuisine and fine companyTucked away beneath our shop in the heart of central London, the cellars were once the largest working cellars in the capital. In 1999 they were converted to create London's most exclusive fine dining venue.

The impressive vaulted Napoleon Cellar (view virtual tour here) was so named after Napoleon III, who plotted his return to France here whilst in exile in England between 1838 and 1848.

Arrive at 6.30pm to a welcoming Champagne aperitif in our historic shop, before descending to the imposing Napoleon Cellar for a sumptuous four-course dinner and a myriad of fabulous wines. Throughout the evening your host and the wine estate’s representative will talk to you about the wines, sharing their knowledge and views, and helping you decide which you like best and why.
