About this WINE
Vinyes dels Aspres
Cantallops is the most northern village in the D.O. of Empordà, itself the most northerly of the Catalan wine regions. The vines undulate within the foothills of the Pyrenees and the wine-making at Vinyes dels Aspres is traditional and allows the distinctive sandy slate soils to express their personality with great dignity.
Other Varieties
There are over 200 different grape varieties used in modern wine making (from a total of over 1000). Most lesser known blends and varieties are traditional to specific parts of the world.

Garnatxa dominates the blend here, with minority shareholdings divided between Cariñena, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. 16 months of ageing in French barrique has yielded a wine of pedigree and poise, with generous Garnatxa ripeness held in counterpoint by subtle mineral notes and finely etched tannins.
