1994 Quinta do Vesuvio

Quinta do Vesuvio
From the finest estate in the Symington empire, the 1994 Vesuvio is a masterpiece. The dominant Touriga Francesca grape provides a perfumed, ethereal nose; on the palate power and restraint are translated into silky tannins and layer upon layer of flavour. Harmonious and elegant, this wine is a worthy ambassador for an historic property.Quinta do Vesuvio

Quinta do Vesuvio
Spicy nose and amazingly sweet on the palate – quite treacley. Some tar too. Lots of potential with macerated raisin flavours. Lots of acidity! I seriously misjudged this wine in a big port tasting four years ago.
