2006 Quinta do Vesuvio

Quinta do Vesuvio
Vesuvio's quality has never been questioned and the decision to release a wine in pretty much every year since inception was more than vindicated when last month BBR tasted all 16 vintages dating back to 1989, firstly with all the leading UK journalists, then with Paul Symington himself. From the early '90s the wines clearly got into their stride, with star wines including the 1994 and the 2000.Quinta do Vesuvio

The 2006 looks set to be another great success, showing all the concentration we have come to expect from this Quinta with dense layers of fruit and tannin. Fine violet and gum cistus aromas, then hedgerow fruit profile and wonderfully ripe tannins. To keep that is for sure, but the fruit is so seductive that it will be difficult to resist for too long!
