Description

Our charismatic Burgundy Director, Jasper Morris MW, looks forward to welcoming you in the Sussex Cellar this evening for a careful study of contrasting wine pairs from Burgundy and Barsac, all accompanied by an elegant dinner. You will examine two mature whites from the same vineyard and producer, but two different vintages; two Musigny wines from different vintages and producers; two Clos de la Roche from the top 1999 vintage but two different producers, and finally you will end on an exquisite pairing of Barsac which compares two châteaux and two vintages showcasing different levels of maturity.

Escaping the hustle and bustle of St James’s Street, step into the quiet of Pickering Place and through a secret door in one of our historic townhouses, and down into our Sussex Cellar. Spread over two levels the Sussex Cellar combines modern architectural innovation with the feel of our historic cellars.

Arrive from 6.30pm for an apéritif on the mezzanine level, and then descend one floor to take your seats in the Sussex Cellar. Our Head Chef Stewart Turner and his team will serve up a series of dishes designed to partner each glass of wine you are served, and your host will be on hand to answer questions and share their extensive wine knowledge.
