Description

This dinner is a chance to celebrate the feast of Michaelmas, and our talented Head Chef Stewart Turner has devised a menu based around Michaelmas goose especially for the occasion. Your host, Barbara Drew, has chosen an eclectic selection of fine wines from both traditional and lesser-known regions for you to try alongside the feast. We shall start with a fish dish, matched with some classic whites, before trying a range of reds with our rich goose main. For the cheese course, we have selected some beautifully mature Cheddar, and will be finishing with an autumnal classic, blackberry pie.

Wines to be tasted:
2012 Turley Pesenti Vineyard Zinfandel, Paso Robles, California
2012 The Sadie Family Eben Sadie Columella, Swartland
2012 Sancerre, Cuvée Marcel Henri, Brigitte et Daniel Chotard
2012 Pandolfi Price Larkün Chardonnay, Valle del Itata
2010 Riesling de Rorschwihr SGN, Domaine Rolly-Gassmann
2010 Pinot Noir, DO Catalunya, Celler de Capçanes
2009 Barbaresco, Pajé, Roagna, Piedmont
1995 Ch. Giscours, Margaux
Domaine de Grand Pré Pomme d'Or Ice Cider, Nova Scotia
