Wines of Piedmont, Napoleon Cellar Dinners, Friday, 2nd October 2015
Napoleon Cellar Dinners
Join us at one of our popular Napoleon Cellar Dinners for a memorable evening of fine wine, fine cuisine and fine company. Tucked away beneath our shop in the heart of central London, the cellars were once the largest working cellars in the capital. In 1999 they were converted to create London's most exclusive fine dining venue.
The impressive vaulted Napoleon Cellar (view virtual tour here) was so named after Napoleon III, who plotted his return to France here whilst in exile in England between 1838 and 1848.
Arrive at 6.30pm to a welcoming Champagne aperitif in our historic shop, before descending to the imposing Napoleon Cellar for a sumptuous four-course dinner and a myriad of fabulous wines. Throughout the evening your host and the wine estate’s representative will talk to you about the wines, sharing their knowledge and views, and helping you decide which you like best and why.

Description
Chris Pollington, our Italian specialist, has chosen Piedmont this year for his dinner theme. Enjoy his choice of wine styles and producers and the chance to match them with Piedmont-inspired dishes. This region is vinously rich as well as a paradise for the lover of authentic Italian dishes. Expect delicious comparisons between Barolo and Barbaresco and an understanding of the most desirable vineyard plots within each. Nor will he forget the other reds such as Barbera and Dolcetto – also great food partners – and of course there are plenty of esoteric whites to relish too, such as Roero and Gavi. Chris will choose you the very best from our list, and make sure the evening is a glorious one.
N.B. Wines for this event will be chosen from Berry Bros. & Rudd stocks at the time of the event, so most will be available to order afterwards
