Description

This evening we visit the classic styles of Veneto, from the light freshness of Prosecco, Soave and Bardolino through to the rich intensity of Amarone and Recioto. After a brief tour of the white wines of the region we will focus on reds, tasting examples of all the members of the Valpolicella ‘family’ and considering the effect of different methods, producers and vintages on the style and character of the wines. If you are keen to discover the region and its wines, or just wish to try these very different styles side-by-side, here is your chance.

Wines to be tasted:

Prosecco di Valdobbiadene, Trevisiol L. e Figli, Italy
2012 Prosecco Asolo 'Millesimato', Bele Casel, Veneto
2013 Soave Classico, Monte Stelle, La Cappuccina, Veneto
2010 Valpolicella Superiore, Marion, Marcellise, Veneto
2010 Valpolicella Classico Superiore, Monte dei Ragni, Fumane, Veneto
2010 Valpolicella Classico Superiore, I Cantoni, Novaia, Marano, Veneto
2009 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva, Le Balze, Novaia, Veneto
2008 Amarone Classico della Valpolicella Monte dei Ragni, Fumane, Veneto
2004 Valpolicella Superiore, Marion, Marcellise, Veneto
2012 Recioto della Valpolicella Classico Le Novaje, Novaia, Marano, Veneto
