Intro to Burgundy with A.McHale MW, Tasting, Thursday 22nd October 2015

Don’t miss tonight’s opportunity to explore the treasures of Burgundy, where the world’s most subtly expressive Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs can be found, particularly in the region’s famous heartland, the Côte d’Or – or ‘Golden Slope’. If you’ve always been entranced by Burgundy’s sublime wines but also slightly bewildered by the complexity of it all, then this is the evening for you. Burgundy Specialist Anne McHale MW will take you on a vinous tour from Chablis in the north right down to Pouilly-Fuissé in the south, via some of Burgundy’s top red and white wines in the Côte d’Or. You will explore hierarchical differences between village, Premier and Grand Cru wines, taste wines from some of the region’s most respected growers, and engage more closely with the intriguing concept of terroir which is such a crucial part of this complex but fascinating corner of France.
