Description

This evening’s line-up will showcase the distinctive character and diversity emerging from the region that has become the ‘second home’ of Pinot Noir. A notoriously difficult grape to grow successfully, Pinot Noir has found a climate in the South Island of New Zealand that suits it well, and the wines from that region have developed a strong following. What is their distinctive appeal – is it really all about fruit, or do the wines express the different terroirs of the region as they do in Burgundy? Join us this evening to form your own view.

Wines to be tasted:

Berrys' Crémant de Limoux, Antech-Limoux
2012 Felton Road, Bannockburn Pinot Noir Central Otago
2012 Doctors Flat Vineyard Pinot Noir, Bannockburn, Central Otago
2011 Rippon Vineyard Rippon Mature Vine Pinot Noir, Lake Wanaka, C. Otago
