Wines of Southern Italy, Tutored Tasting, Friday 20th November 2015

Southern Italy, long the source of quantities of wine, is now producing wines of serious quality as well. The range and scale of favourable grape-growing areas, along with a tradition of planting grapes well-suited to each microclimate, create tremendous potential for production of high-quality wines. The new generation of winemakers is beginning to realise that potential, crafting some exciting wines from interesting local varieties – Greco, Fiano, Nerello, Aglianico, Sagrantino and more. This evening we will sample their efforts and assess them for ourselves.
