About this WINE
Chateau la Negly
Château De la Negly is a highly-rated Languedoc domaine that can trace its roots back to 1773. It is situated on the prime chalky terroir of La Clape in the Languedoc, in sight of the Mediterrnean, whose cooling breezes moderate the maturation.
The property had been owned by the famile Rosset for many years and were content sending their grapes to the local co-operative to be vinified. However it is only recently that current proprietor Jean-Paul Rosset and winemaker Cyril Chamontin have begun to realise the domaine's full potential.Today yields are severely restricted and the winery and cellars have been totally renovated. Grapes are no longer destioned for the co-operartive and a range of premium cuvées are produced.
Other Varieties
There are over 200 different grape varieties used in modern wine making (from a total of over 1000). Most lesser known blends and varieties are traditional to specific parts of the world.

Description
The wine has a lemon-gold hue then a pleasing nose of lemon butter, hazelnut and mealy honeycomb. It is gently aromatic, firmly dry and underpinned by notes of pear, guava and almond then an appealing bitter, quinine-like edge of acidity. A certain minerality is revealed on the palate, underlining an inherent and extremely impressive complexity.
