The pedigree of our Own Selection range ensures it is a favourite with customers and staff alike, hence we have asked our team to highlight their personal favourites, which can be read here. To ease the decision-making process, we have also compiled this Staff Favourites Mixed Case, made up from the recommendations below.
2013 Berry Bros. & Rudd Sancerre Appealingly crisp and fresh with a pleasing lime and grapefruit zing. Citrus fruits aside, there is a rather mineral and rich expression to the wine and mouth feel. This is quite simply cool weather Sauvignon Blanc personified and a great addition to our Own Selection range. Perfect with Lemon Sole Meuniere and long summer evenings. David Hall, Wine Advisor
2010 Berrys' Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Caves d'Ogier Generous and open-armed, the past couple of years in bottle have given this wine ample time to show the merits of the outstanding 2010 vintage. Now a little mellowed, damson, spiced plums and dried red fruits with hints of earth and garrigue give plenty to muse over. Something of an armchair wine this has all the hallmarks of classic and well-made Châteauneuf-du-Pape, though would also be quite at home with a leg of roast lamb and all the trimmings to keep it company. Felipe Carvallo, Wine Advisor
Berry Bros. & Rudd St Emilion Deep and brooding in character, but medium bodied in texture. This has powerful plum and ripe cassis notes and is backed up with fine tannins reflecting the outstanding 201
