2011 Perricone, Porta del Vento, Camporeale, Sicily (red)
This Perricone is part of a broader movement, now picking up speed, to bring more attention to this hearty Sicilian red grape. Each year,we see more monovarietal expressions of Perricone. The wine opens to any inky black appearance with sharp aromas of cola, balsam herb and bold cherry fruit. It’s a medium-bodied drink with mild tannins and good fruit freshness that would pair with lamb or game meat.

2013 Recanati Winery Wild Carignan Reserve, Israel (red)
With limited yields and sensitive wine-making, these remarkable vines make one of the most profound Carignan based wines I have ever tasted, full-bodied but elegant, with masses of blueberry fruit counterpoised by a savoury spiciness.

2012 Nero d'Avola, Ishac, Porta del Vento, Camporeale, Sicily (red)
This wine shows a pure and genuine side of this popular Sicilian grape; it is all about the fruit, with pressed blackberry, Maraschino cherry and sour prune. with impressive freshness and depth of flavours.

2014 Domaine Skouras, Moscofilero, Peloponnese (white)
This pungently aromatic Moscofilero offers a vivid rose and lemon zest aromas and flavours, whilst a brief rest on the fine lees brings us a complex minerality and textured mouth feel. Weighing-in at only 12% this aromatic example of one of Greece’s most celebrated white wines provides us with a perfect match for a variety of sea fish.

2012 Zambartas, Maratheftiko, Cyprus  (red)
This wine shows all the hallmarks of Maratheftiko: an intense purple colour, lifted violet and black cherry aromas, mouth-coating though structured tannins, and a full body.

2013 Domaine Lyrarakis, Mistirio, Dafni, Crete  (white)
The Dafni grape variety is actually one of Crete’s best kept secrets. It is still very rare, and obscure. The grape profile comprises layers of complex botanical flavours ( juniper to eucalyptus, spearmint) underlined by refreshing, cleansing acidity.
