2013 Efe Barrica, Bodegas los Frailes, Valencia

A soft, floral nose meets with fresh brambles, blueberries and blackberry crumble on the palate in this wine born of 40-year-old Monastrell vines, indigenous of the region. Tucked into the Els Alforins valley, the high altitude and sweeping Mediterranean winds keep the wine light and the tannins soft and round, while the blend of 20% Cabernet adds structure and succulence. Delicious with a light, late summer barbecue, or simply on its own as an apéritif.
