Description

There is a great sense of excitement about the 2015 Italy Grand Tour Tasting, where we present a range of great Italian wines from all over this most intriguing and rewarding of wine producing countries.

At this tasting you will have a chance to taste the much heralded 2011 Barolo vintage from the likes of Giuseppe Mascarello, Chiara Boschis, Bartolo Mascarello and Marcarini, to name just a few. We will also be showing the delicious 2011 vintage Brunelli di Montalcino , ahead of the official release next year.

Together with this, we have new releases from our Super-Tuscan range, as well as exciting new vintages from indigenous varieties from every corner of this fascinating country, such as Nebbiolo (Barbaresco and Barolo), Corvina (Valpolicella), Sangiovese (Chianti Classico Riserva, Montalcino), Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Sagrantino (Montefalco), Aglianico (Taurasi), Negroamaro (Puglia), and Frappato (Cerasuolo di Vittoria).

We have a new venue this year in the shape of the annular Assembly Hall at Church House, home of the Church of England, adjacent to Westminster Abbey. This circular room provides a stunning setting for a vinous journey around Italy. As well as the wines on offer, those wine producers that also make olive oil will be displaying their wares, alongside a selection of Italian cheeses. All in all it promises to be a great evening; we look forward to seeing you there.
