Description

Besides laying claim to being France’s largest vineyard area, and home to more large wine estates than anywhere else in the country, Bordeaux also produces a larger share of the world’s most expensive wines than anywhere else. As you would expect, top-drawer Bordeaux represents the absolute apogée of production. Over dinner in our characterful Napoleon Cellar, named after the man allegedly responsible for the 1855 Médoc classification, you and your host, Demetri Walters MW, will taste from all over the region. Our excellent kitchen will produce a menu to complement the wonderful white wines of the Graves, the famous reds of both banks, as well as unctuous Sauternes. This is an evening not to be missed.

Hosted by Demetri Walters MW, Head of Private Wine Events

N.B. Wines for this event will be chosen from Berry Bros. & Rudd stocks at the time of the event, so most will be available to order afterwards.

Napoleon Cellar Dinners

Napoleon Cellar Dinners

Join us at one of our popular Napoleon Cellar Dinners for a memorable evening of fine wine, fine cuisine and fine companyTucked away beneath our shop in the heart of central London, the cellars were once the largest working cellars in the capital. In 1999 they were converted to create London's most exclusive fine dining venue.

The impressive vaulted Napoleon Cellar (view virtual tour here) was so named after Napoleon III, who plotted his return to France here whilst in exile in England between 1838 and 1848.

Arrive at 6.30pm to a welcoming Champagne aperitif in our historic shop, before descending to the imposing Napoleon Cellar for a sumptuous four-course dinner and a myriad of fabulous wines. Throughout the evening your host and the wine estate’s representative will talk to you about the wines, sharing their knowledge and views, and helping you decide which you like best and why.

4 tickets maximum per customer (subject to availability)
