Description

Join Lenka Sedlackova MW for a veritable fiesta of all things Spanish (and, trust us, there is a lot to celebrate when it comes to Spanish wine). Chef Stuart Turner is fascinated by Iberian cooking and his skill in accompanying such diverse wines as, for example, a Gran Reserva Blanco 1994 from Tondonia and an aged Albariño from Pazo de Señoráns, is unmatched. In addition, we shall be comparing two classics from 1981; examining the differing faces of Vega Sicila and we shall (re)acquaint ourselves with the genius of Alvaro Palacios. All in all, a real treat: bueno.

Wines to be tasted:
2004 Cava Gramona, Celler Batlle, Gran Reserva, Brut
2011 Gratallops, Alvaro Palacios, Priorat
2011 Bodegas Alión, Ribera del Duero
2010 Las Lamas, Descendientes de J Palacios, Bierzo
2009 Valbuena 5°, Bodegas Vega Sicilia, Ribera del Duero
2006 Selección de Añada, Pazo de Señoráns, Rías Baixas
1994 Viña Tondonia Blanco, Gran Reserva, Bodegas R. López de Heredia, Rioja
1981 Viña Tondonia Tinto, Gran Reserva, Bodegas R. López de Heredia, Rioja
1981 Gran Reserva 890, La Rioja Alta , Rioja

Hosted by Lenka Sedlackova MW

Napoleon Cellar Dinners

Napoleon Cellar Dinners

Join us at one of our popular Napoleon Cellar Dinners for a memorable evening of fine wine, fine cuisine and fine companyTucked away beneath our shop in the heart of central London, the cellars were once the largest working cellars in the capital. In 1999 they were converted to create London's most exclusive fine dining venue.

The impressive vaulted Napoleon Cellar (view virtual tour here) was so named after Napoleon III, who plotted his return to France here whilst in exile in England between 1838 and 1848.

Arrive at 6.30pm to a welcoming Champagne aperitif in our historic shop, before descending to the imposing Napoleon Cellar for a sumptuous four-course dinner and a myriad of fabulous wines. Throughout the evening your host and the wine estate’s representative will talk to you about the wines, sharing their knowledge and views, and helping you decide which you like best and why.
