How is it possible to decide which wine is ‘best’? The answer, of course, is ‘it depends’. If you are looking for a full-bodied, powerful wine then the best wine will not be the same as if you are seeking something fruity and friendly or fragrant and elegant. We’ll define four classes of reds before putting forward some top candidates for each category. You award the blue ribbons.
