Description

Join Wine Education Specialist Barbara Drew tonight for a chance to explore four famous communes on Bordeaux’s Right and Left Banks: St Emilion, Pomerol, Graves and Sauternes. Through a fascinating line-up of examples from top châteaux you will have the chance to compare and contrast the different styles (white, dry, red and sweet), looking at vintage variation and the wines’ ability to age.

You will also get a feel for the context in which they are made as Barbara explores how these wines relate to the rest of Bordeaux and how they represent the region in today’s international wine market. The final wine, a mature Sauternes, will ensure that the evening ends on a sweet note.

Wines to be tasted:
2014 Berry Bros. & Rudd Good Ordinary White
2012 Ch. de Respide, Cuvée Callipyge, Graves
2010 Ch. Berliquet, St Emilion
2007 Ch. Trottevieille, St Emilion
2011 Ch. L'Evangile, Pomerol
2009 Ch. Bellegrave, Pomerol
2012 Ch. Latour Martillac Rouge, Pessac-Léognan
2006 Ch. Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan
1989 Ch. Suduiraut, Sauternes

NB Wines for this event have been chosen from Berry Bros. & Rudd’s historic stocks and may not be available to order following the event.
