Description

This evening the focus is firmly on Spain's three top red-wine producing regions. We'll start with a brief look at white Rioja before diving in to explore, compare and contrast three very different regions. We'll consider climate, grape varieties and the role of producers, and how these affect the final style of the wine.

We will explore a range of vintages and also taste some truly iconic wines from top producers such as La Rioja Alta, Allende, Álvaro Palacios and Pago de los Capellanes, including El Picón and L'Ermita. We'll end the evening in style by sampling the one and only Vega Sicilia.

Wines to be tasted:
2000 Viña Tondonia Blanco Reserva, Bodegas R. López de Heredia, Rioja
2014 Joven de Silos, Cillar de Silos, Ribera del Duero
2010 Viña de Amalio, Cillar de Silos, Ribera del Duero
2006 Trio Infernal 1/3, Combier-Fischer- Gerin Associés, Priorat
