About this WINE
Domaine Jean-Francois Quenard
The Quenards are one of the leading wine-making families of the Savoie. Jean-Francois can date the domaine which now bears his name back to 1644. He joined his father in 1987 and has since developed the estate to 18 hectares, notably in white wines from the cru of Chignin. Each vineyard site is bottled separately, and the domaine is currently undergoing organic certification.
The white Vin de Savoie Chignin is made predominantly from the Jacquere grape variety, with its mouthwatering-fresh "alpine-clean"flavour profile.
Other Varieties
There are over 200 different grape varieties used in modern wine making (from a total of over 1000). Most lesser known blends and varieties are traditional to specific parts of the world.

Description
Seduces at first sniff thanks to its aromas of orange peel and stone fruit. On the palate, there’s a wet rock minerality that can’t fail to evoke the alpine streams of the Savoie. Fuller bodied than one might expect with just a hint of olive pit and almond on the finish, calling to mind the whites of northern Italy (Turin is just two hours away). It will be truly fascinating to see how this develops.
