To many consumers the word “Beaujolais” conjures up images of Beaujolais Nouveau, the simple, confected, new-season wine which was popular in the 1970s and ‘80s, but the region has always had more interesting wines to offer and never more so than now, with a new generation of producers making high-quality wines at every level. This evening we will discuss and taste our way from the crisp, fruity style that is so useful as a companion to light or spicy foods through to the more structured and age-worthy wines from Morgon and Moulin-à-Vent – providing an opportunity to re-discover the wines of this region, or simply to enjoy some favourites.
