If you are serious about Rioja, this is surely a must, offering a chance to learn about the different areas within Rioja, known as Alavesa, Alta and Baja. In the past our Spain tastings have taken the form of a general introduction to the country’s wines, or have focused on key winemakers. Tonight, however, we will be examining just Rioja, treating this area with the same level of detail as we do the Côte de Nuits. Your host, Wine Education Specialist Felipe Carvallo, will take you through Rioja’s sub-regions and varied styles, ensuring you know your Baja from your Alta and your traditional from your modern.
