Very expressive and pure on the nose, with a wonderful flash of menthol to lift and bring a great energy to proceedings. There is no denying this is plush, modern, youthful Burgundy which should not be mistaken for not being a serious wine – it is, and very much so! The subtle oak tapers the very expressive fruit elegantly into fine, well weighted tannins, whilst providing notes of dark spices all the way. The finish resounds around the palate for longer than one would necessarily expect, again more proof this wine is more serious than it first appears. Drink 2013 through to 2017.

A slightly ripe red and blue pinot fruit nose offers up additional notes of wet stone, underbrush and a hint of forest floor that complements well the character of the rich, generous and full-bodied flavors that culminate in a supple and round finish where a note of black cherry surfaces. Lovely and on the refined side.
