Dow's Quinta Senhora da Ribeira

The ‘Lady of the River’ is one of the key components of Dow Vintage Port. Less imposing and magisterial then other Quintas, Senhora de Ribera is a charming property which was originally planted by previous generations of the Symington family at the time of the Great War.

As usual with the Single Quinta the style is luxuriant and velvety, more so, to my mind than Dow itself. The ripeness of fruit is impressive in 2008 ,but then so is the grip and the finish…….whatever the differences evidenced above we are, after all, not that far fundamentally from the Dow style! The blend is made up of 40% each of Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca and 20% from what is described as mixed plantings.
