The summer may have been too hot for some Tuscan grapes in 2007, but up among the Rufina hills east of Florence, with their heavy clay soils, all was just fine. Framed by two years in large slavonian botte, this traditional tuscan blend of Sangiovese (90%), Canaiolo and Colorino, is charmingly ripe and fleshy as well as offering a true Rufina profile of fragrant farmyardy notes. Drinking with game, sausages or fowl.

My favourite Grati red; herb, dried fruit and tea-leaf aromas with farmyard undertones. A perfect example of honest artisanal Chianti matured for two years in traditional old 'botti'.
