2009 Hermitage Blanc, Chante Alouette, Maison Chapoutier

Hermitage Blanc, Chante Alouette, Maison Chapoutier
Perhaps the finest example of this cuvee I have yet tasted, the full-bodied 2009 Ermitage Chante Alouette exhibits notes of almond paste, creme brulee, crushed rocks, white flowers, quince and citrus oil. It is an impressive deep, full-bodied, layered white to enjoy over the next decade. Absolutely prodigious are the three single vineyard white Hermitages, Le Meal, l’Ermite and Cuvee de l’Oree. They are the quintessence of a great Marsanne and three specific sites.
