The Islander Chardonnay Islander Estate Vineyard
The fruit for this Chardonnay wine comes from two sources, Kangaroo Island itself and the Adelaide Hills on the mainland, both of which are amongst the coolest viticultural zones in Australia. The wine is lightly oaked and displays hints of exotic fruit such as melons and pineapple on the bouquet, but retains a fresh acidity and a delicious minerality which makes it semi-European in style. Try with grilled or fried fish.

A classic example of a Frenchman spotting a cool-climate site in which to make elegant, restrained wines in a European style.
